The Challenge

THE CHALLENGE (IT / PRODUCT BUILD PERSPECTIVE) 1. Building a complete salon/spa business operating system The client needed one platform to run daily operations end-to-end: appointments, payments, POS, staff, inventory, marketing, and reporting. 2. Appointment scheduling designed specifically for salons and spas Salon bookings are complex (multiple services, durations, staff selection, overlaps, reschedules, cancellations). The calendar had to be fast, simple, and conflict-free. 3. POS + retail operations in the same workflow The platform had to support in-store checkout, retail product sales, receipts, discounts, taxes, and day-end operations without switching systems. 4. Multi-location and multi-staff coordination Thousands of businesses and large teams required role-based access, staff calendars, shift visibility, and real-time updates across devices. 5. Online booking across multiple channels The system had to support client bookings from Instagram, Facebook, Google, and websites while keeping the central calendar accurate and synced. 6. Marketplace discovery and business profiles A key growth feature was helping businesses get discovered 24/7 through a marketplace profile — requiring listings, availability, services, and trust-building information. 7. Integrated payments with no-show protection In-app card processing and deposit/prepayment flows were required, along with protections to reduce no-shows and revenue loss. 8. Automated communication and reminders Manual calling and messaging wastes staff time. The platform needed automated reminders and notifications for clients and staff. 9. Inventory + consumption tracking Salons sell products and also consume products during services. The system needed supplier ordering, stock control, and consumption tracking. 10. Financial reporting for business decisions Owners needed dashboards and reports to track revenue, performance, staff productivity, and business health. 11. Country-based feature availability Some features (like card processing) are available only in selected countries, so the system had to support region-based feature toggles and compliance.

Our Solution

1. Built a full salon/spa management platform (appointments + POS + growth) We delivered an all-in-one system that supports scheduling, sales, payments, marketing, inventory, and analytics in one unified product. 2. Developed a salon-optimized appointment calendar We built an easy-to-use calendar designed for salon workflows, supporting: * staff-based booking * service durations and buffers * rescheduling and cancellations * real-time conflict prevention 3. Implemented a complete POS for daily retail operations We delivered a POS module to manage: * retail sales, taxes, discounts, receipts * payment capture and checkout flow * daily operational handling for front desk teams 4. Enabled staff notifications and real-time appointment updates We built a mobile notification system so stylists and therapists receive instant updates about new bookings, changes, and cancellations. 5. Delivered multi-channel online booking integrations We enabled online booking flows that can connect with: * Instagram and Facebook booking * Google booking presence * business websites while keeping availability and calendars synced centrally. 6. Built marketplace profiles for 24/7 discovery We created business listing profiles inside a marketplace to help salons attract new clients anytime, with services, availability, and booking access. 7. Integrated card payments with no-show protection features We implemented secure in-app payments and deposit/prepayment options to reduce no-shows and protect business revenue (availability depends on country). 8. Implemented intelligent marketing tools and automated messaging We delivered tools to boost bookings and retention, including: * automated appointment reminders * customer messaging automation * marketing workflows to fill empty slots 9. Built inventory management with supplier ordering and consumption tracking We delivered a stock system that supports: * inventory counts * supplier ordering * tracking product usage during services 10. Delivered financial reporting and performance analytics We implemented reporting dashboards for revenue, sales trends, staff performance, and business insights for smarter decisions. 11. Added region-based controls for feature availability We implemented country-based configuration so features like card processing can be enabled only where supported.
