Overview

This is a recipe and meal discovery platform (SideChef-style) where users can search recipes, browse trending and video content, pick meals by category (breakfast/lunch/dinner/dessert), filter by allergies, follow creators, and turn recipes into grocery shopping with one click. The page is designed to help users go from “idea → recipe → cooking → groceries” fast.

The Challenge

1. Helping users find the right recipe quickly A recipe platform has huge content. Users need fast discovery without feeling lost. 2. Serving different user intents on one homepage Some visitors want trending ideas, some want quick videos, some want meal planning, and some want dietary-safe recipes. 3. Personalization and dietary safety at scale Users want recommendations based on taste, time, and restrictions (allergies, preferences). 4. Keeping engagement high with multimedia content Video recipes and creator content must feel easy to consume, scroll-friendly, and fast-loading. 5. Converting content into action (meal plan + groceries) Big challenge is moving users from browsing to actually cooking and buying ingredients. 6. Supporting creators and content credibility Users trust recipes more when creators are visible and content looks consistent and high quality. 7. Monetization without ruining user experience The platform needs clear business CTAs (B2B “business solution”) while still staying user-first.

Our Solution

1. Built a clear homepage content structure We organized the page into logical blocks: search hero, trending, video recipes, meal categories, featured content, dietary filters, creators, and personalized recommendations. 2. Implemented a strong search-first experience A prominent search bar + clear category browsing helps users reach recipes in seconds. 3. Added “Pick Your Meal” and allergy-based discovery Meal-type tabs and “Explore Allergies By” sections reduce decision fatigue and improve relevance for dietary-sensitive users. 4. Designed fast, card-based browsing UI Recipes are displayed as clean cards with quick actions, making comparison and scrolling effortless. 5. Introduced video-first recipe discovery A dedicated video recipes strip supports modern “watch then cook” behavior and increases engagement. 6. Added creator spotlight section Highlighting creators builds trust, improves retention, and creates a community-driven content feel. 7. Built conversion features: recipes → groceries We positioned “Turn recipes into groceries with one click” as a clear CTA, helping users complete the full cooking journey. 8. Kept monetization clean with dedicated banners Business-focused CTAs are placed in separate sections so they don’t disrupt the main consumer browsing experience.
